GoPro is one of those brands whose cameras are lauded and loved by ‘adventure junkies’ and camera lovers, however, sometimes that image can exclude those who don’t feel they’re as tech savvy. Sometimes, it makes people think the product “isn’t for me.”
Today, the new new GoPro HERO10 Black released into markets such as Australia, and we’ve been fortunate to have it in our hands (under embargo) for a few weeks.
Here’s a few reasons why the GoPro HERO10 Black could appeal to those who aren’t in the traditional target market – the tech under the hood is pretty impressive and here’s some of what it can do for you.
GoPro HERO10 Black Claims
Despite everything the company has done in the past, GoPro says the HERO10 Black is its most powerful camera yet.
Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman, goes as far as saying the “HERO10 Black is one of the most impressive cameras in the word, regardless of price.”
If that’s to be believed, that’s pretty phenomenal that someone can keep such considerable capacity in such a mini portable device.
What you can do with the GoPro HERO10 Black – for the ‘non-adventure junkies’
1. For candid family shots
The HERO10 Black has a ‘Hindsight’ feature which automatically captures up to 30 seconds before you hit record to capture those ultra-adorable candid family ‘money shots.’
How many times have you asked your beautiful nephew/niece to pose and do ‘that thing’ you so love, only to smile that what they did before was even cuter…
With this feature you’ll never miss a treasured moment – even the ones you didn’t expect.
Use the ‘LiveBurst’ feature to automatically take a series of candid photos before and after the planned shot so you can enjoy whatever captured moments you’d orinarily have missed.
2. For the sunrise lovers
Oooft, it’s hard not to love a good sunrise. It’s equally hard not to love a good sleep-in…
The HERO10 Black has a nifty ‘Schedule Capture’ feature which allows you to simply set the time you’d like it to record – you can capture that favoured sunrise video without you having to be awake.
Less noise in the the video quality also means anything captured is even more crisp than before (the GoPro HERO10 have truly taken their photography/video capture quality to the next level).
3. For the nearly engaged – this could be the cam you want to capture the proposal
We’ll let you check out the GoPro website for all the camera specs (fair to say it’s very impressive) that warrant it capable of capturing ultra impressive video and camera quality for an engagement.
But what if you want to propose and don’t have a photographer handy? It’s a relevant question in a season of social distancing and pandemic related restrictions where someone may have to do it all themselves.
With ‘Schedule Capture’ the fiancé-to-be can set the GoPro HERO10 Black in-frame and ensure their romantic setting is ready, then use ‘Schedule Capture’ to ensure it’s automatically recording at the designated time.
This means that you can focus on the mood and your nerves of the moment without having to fuss about the camera.
Schedule Capture can be used to set a time up to 24 hours in advance.
Alternatively, using ‘Duration Mode’ someone can specify how long they’d like the camera to record, meaning you don’t have to faff around with having to turn it off, rather can truly be in the moment – before and after.
The sharpest shooting GoPro ever.
4. For the person who loves to capture videos to extract candid photos – engagements, friend moments & more
People are never truly at their most natural state when a camera is pointed at them and some one says ‘Cheese.’
Want to capture some really beautiful candid moments? Well, the photographs taken from videos recorded with the GoPro HERO10 Black have had their quality even more amped up versus the 9.
An example of this being beneficial is, again, when capturing your engagement. Not only will the video quality be great, but you’ll also be able to extract some good quality photos from it for social media, your memory bank and the like.
5. For the person whose laptop has a grainy webcam and they need better for work, Zoom calls, interviews or pure relief in today’s virtual world
Don’t worry, the multi-purpose nature of the GoPro HEOR10 Black means it can be used as a live-stream webcam.
It will broadcast 1080p HD video, has versatile mounting options and a wide 132-degree field of view,
6. For the person who wants easy video editing
The blazing fast, user-friendly GoPro Quik app makes video editing a breeze and it’s extremely easy to turn footage into social media friendly material, shareable for your world.
“Is that all I need to do?,” is often a phrase we hear when showing people the Quik app.
Quik is quick. More time to be in moments capturing footage, living life, than sitting back editing, so you can share treasured moments on Instagram.
7. For the emerging YouTuber or online teacher
The pandemic has prompt the transition online, and the HERO10 Black makes for great versatility and an all-encompassing media package.
